cora loves: female role models

1. olivia wilde.

hands down my favorite actress. she’s obsessed with “eat, pray, love” (twins??), has won a pancake eating contest, and is a vegetarian. not to mention she is absolutely gorgeous! total girl crush. check out her new website here… she’s an environmentalist and is the director of artists for peace and justice. i can’t say enough good things about her!

“a real woman doesn’t apologize for her beauty. you can be a sexy, beautiful  woman and be the smartest person in the room.”-OW

2. katherine heigl.

she’s the star in my all-time favorite movie (27 dresses), married a talented country singer, and adopted an adorable daughter from korea. i love how dedicated she is to her family and how down-to-earth she trys to be!

“Guys are kind of stupid until they’re 30”-KH (i had to put this. truer words have not been spoken)

3. kate beckinsale.

i sincerely hope i look as amazing as this woman when i’m 38, oh my goodness. even though she was named sexiest woman alive, she would rather focus her energy on being a good role model for her daughter. check out her cover for allure magazine this august!

“I very much believe in “do as you would be done by.” I don’t think enough people live like that.”-KB

4. beyonce.

i really don’t need to explain why she’s on this list. b is like the ultimate role model for women. she’s strong, confident, beautiful, compassionate, and now a mother!

“I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I only have to follow my heart & concentrate on what I want to say to the world… I run my world”-BK

5. leighton meester.

this girl is really nothing like blair from gossip girl in real life. having overcome a difficult childhood, leighton seems like the kind of girl i’d love to have as my best friend. she swears that she rarely wears makeup and would rather spend a night in with yummy takeout than out at the hottest clubs.

“If you’re just yourself, you’ll never lose. That’s when you feel the most comfortable, that’s when you have the most  success, and that’s when you’re the most happy.” -LM

6. cameron diaz.

i used to obsess over cameron…especially her cute short hair cut. and the fact that she’s super athletic didn’t hurt. what made me pick her for this list is the new book that she is working on. it’s a nutrition book offering girls advice on being healthy rather than obsessing over weight and being thin.

7. taylor swift.

i know a lot of people think tswift is overrated but she is definitely my musical role model. i love how her songs are so real and speak to so many young girls. i think every girl can really relate to her & it’s nice that she’s stayed mostly the same even with a ton of success.

“to me, fearless is not the absence of fear. it’s not being completely unafraid. to me, fearless is having fears. fearless is having doubts, lots of them. to me, fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death.”-TS

8. jessica alba.

i’ve always thought jessica was one of the most beautiful actresses. but she’s so much more than a pretty face! the way that she values her role as a mother and wife is really inspiring to me. she is so comfortable with who she is and i love how she stays out of the spotlight. not to mention she recently started her own business designed to sell eco-friendly products to new mothers!

9. scarlett johansson.

as a woman who is very vocal about accepting and loving her body, scarlett is a great role model for young women with body image issues. she comes across as humble and down to earth despite being viewed as a sex symbol. she has also said many times that she loves the idea of being a woman that girls can look up to! i know i definitely do : )

“it’s very exciting to be that kind of role model for young girls and for women  to see that you don’t have to be the damsel in distress.”-SJ

10. jennifer aniston.

jennifer is one of the most classy, beautiful celebrities… i feel like she gets prettier as she gets older! but obviously there is much more to her than that. she is the best example of an independent woman who has overcome a lot of struggles but continues to focus on the positives and growing as an individual. at the same time, she seems so sincere & like the girl next door that everyone loves.

“once you figure out who you are and what you love about yourself, i think it all kinda falls into place.” -JA

who are your celebrity role models??
